Kenya’s largest supermarket Nakumatt Holdings has shut down there TRM branch. Nakumatt has been battling with debt it owes the suppliers for quiet sometime rendering its shelves empty. The closure comes barely a months after their NextGen Mall supermarket on Mombasa road was closed down after nine months of operation.
A memo pinned at the TRM entrance indicated that they will be closing down following a stock-taking. The memo read in part;
“The branch will be temporarily closed due to a stock-taking exercise,” says the notice from management.
“We thank you for your patronage and apologize for any inconvenience caused,” it adds.
